Life insurance is one of those things that everybody should have, and yet, many of us find excuses not to purchase it. It’s understandable why. Life insurance forces us to face the “what-ifs” in life—like, “what if something happens to me?” Are your loved ones situated financially if something happens unexpectantly? This is why it’s important to buy life insurance.
If you’re still unsure, let’s look into other reasons why people tend not to purchase life insurance.
I’m too busy.
With everything going on in your life, it’s just one more thing you have to do, just not today. Discussing life insurance is probably not the most exciting topic for everyone and can be uncomfortable, but it’s important and shouldn’t be avoided. Life insurance can provide you confidence knowing your family will have enough money to cover their financial obligations—such as paying off the car or Home Loan. Make the time to discuss it with your financial advisor to help ensure a secure financial future for your family.
It’s uncomfortable.
The idea of life insurance raises the issues of our own mortality, which can be stressful. However, it doesn’t have to be. Try focusing on the positives of buying life insurance, like knowing you’re able to provide for, and care for, your loved ones. You will be protecting them against the uncertainties of life. Most importantly, know that life insurance is really about life and love and about helping ensure a positive quality of life for your family.
I don’t know where to start.
You, and about everyone else, can probably agree that buying life insurance can be complicated. “What type of policy is best,” “how much do you need,” “when and how benefits are paid,” and “how benefits may be taxed” are just a few questions you may consider when buying life insurance. Luckily, you don’t have to do it by yourself. The right insurance professional can guide you through the process of selecting the policy that best suits your needs, budget, and objectives. They will also answer all the questions you may have.
I have more important expenses.
For some, it’s not that they don’t want life insurance; they just find it difficult to pay for it. Buying life insurance you can’t afford benefits no one and you’re more likely to terminate the policy. That’s why it’s important to purchase a policy that meets your needs and your budget. There are many life insurance policies available, but it’s up to you and your insurance professional to determine which type is best for you.
It’s easy to understand why people tend to put off purchasing life insurance. However, when you look into the benefits of having life insurance and know the fact that your family is taken care of should something happen to you, there is no better reason to purchase a policy.
